Paula Red

Similar to McIntosh in texture. This tender apple has a tart taste.

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, freezing or just biting straight from the branch.

Gala

Similar to Golden Delicious in flavor with 50% and more red color with yellow background. Sweet in flavor!

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, baking, freezing in slices or just biting straight from the branch.

Not recommended for sauces.

McIntosh

40% red color, white flesh, flat shaped apple. Has a spicy and tender flavor.

Uses:
Excellent for salads, cooking into pies, sauces, baking, freezing as a sauce orjust biting straight from the branch.

Empire

Similar to McIntosh but firmer with more red color on green background. Tastes sweet and tart with a crisp quality.

Uses:
Good for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, freezing as a sauce or just biting straight from the branch.

Jonathon

More red color on light green background, may have slight russetting around the stem with a tart and spicy taste.

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, freezing in slices or just biting straight from the branch.

Red Delicious

More red in color with a slightly elongated appearance. Has a sweet and rich flavor.

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, or just biting straight from the branch.

Not recommended for freezing or sauces.

Golden Delicious

Pale green to light yellow apple with slight russetting or freckles. Has a rich flavor with a bit of a crunch!

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, salads, freezing as slices or sauces or just biting straight from the branch.

Melrose

Red color on rough skinned green to yellow background color. Crisp with a mild taste.

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, salads, freezing as slices or sauces or just biting straight from the branch.

Staymen Winesap

Red color on rough skin surface. An excellent storage apple. A spicy and firm apple.

Uses:

Jonagold

Light red color over yellow background with a sweet and tangy flavor.

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, or just biting straight from the branch.

Not recommended for freezing.

Honeycrisp

Light red color over yellow background. Crisp and sweet!

Goldrush

Similar to McIntosh in texture, but more tart.

Granny Smith

Pale green tart sweet apple with a red blushed cheek. A tart and hard apple.

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, baking, salads, or freezing as slices. Fair as a sauce or eating uncooked.

Fuji

Light green to burnt orange appearance. This sweet, but crunchy apple freezes well.

 

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, baking, salads, freezing as slices or just biting straight from the branch.

Not recommended as a sauce.

Ginger Gold

Greenish-yellow apple with a smooth finish. A tart yet crisp apple.

Uses:
Excellent for salads or just biting straight from the branch.

Okay in Sauces and Pies, but not recommended for freezing or baking.

Cortland

Red, flat shaped apple with white flesh, which remains white when sliced.

Uses:
Excellent for cooking into pies, sauces, baking, freezing in slices or just biting straight from the branch.
